Items in Mortal Shell feature the different categories of items such as consumables, crafting materials, and key items. Items are usually obtained from looting, chests, destroying breakable objects, dropped by killed enemies, bosses, purchased from merchants, or obtained as a reward from completing a quest. Consumables
Consumables are a type of Item in Mortal Shell. Consumables can provide different effects such as healing, boosting stats, providing currency, etc. Consumables can be dropped by Enemies, found inside chests or scattered around various Locations. They can also be designated to a quick slot for fast use.

Currency
Currency Items are a type of Item in Mortal Shell. Currency Items can be consumed to acquire Tar, which can be used to upgrade the different Shell Abilities by talking to Sester Genessa.
The Tar count is shared among all Shells.
Tar can be obtained by killing enemies or consuming Currency Items. When the character dies, it will drop all the Tar it was currently holding (Currency Items won't be dropped). If the player manages to get back to where the shell died and recover the shell (before dying again), the Tar will be recovered.

Experience
Experience Items are a type of Item in Mortal Shell. Experience Items grant Glimpses when consumed which can be used to upgrade the different Shell Abilities by talking to Sester Genessa.
Each Shell has its own glimpse count. Any Experience Item consumed will only be available for the shell you were using at the moment of the consumption. Once you unlock all Abilities from a Shell, you will be able to purchase Items from Sester Genessa by spending Glimpses. Purchasing Experience Items for Glimpses is a great way to swap Glimpses from one Shell to another.
Glimpses can be acquired by consuming Experience Items or by defeating powerful Enemies or Bosses.
